What kind of charter travel services does Sun Country Charters provide?

An aircraft charter is a private flight that operates exclusively for the client and its passengers, while passengers on a group flight fly on an existing scheduled-service flight with other public passengers. Sun Country Charters also offers several aircraft lease options for clients with longer-term needs. How many people can fly on a private charter?

Private charter clients can use all of the seats on an aircraft, with Sun Country Charter's Boeing 737-800 airplanes featuring 162 seats and Boeing 737-800 airplanes featuring 129 seats. Additionally, 12 seats on both aircraft types are first class – something unique to Sun Country Charters that is perfect for charter flight organizers or business travel executives.

Where can Sun Country Charters fly?

Sun Country Charters has a presence at nearly 30 destinations in the US, Mexico and the Caribbean. Plus, with a range of 2,600 nautical miles our modern and fuel-efficient aircraft can take airplane charter clients most anywhere they'd like to go. In fact, Sun Country has flown private charter flights to every continent – except Antarctica of course, but we'd love to check it off our list! – so you can rest assured that we can take you from wherever you are to wherever you want to go.

Sun Country Charters is based in Minnesota, USA but my charter needs are not. How does this work?

While Sun Country Airlines' scheduled service flight operations are based in Minnesota, Sun Country Charters are open to charter flight and aircraft lease clients worldwide regardless of departure and arrival city pairs.

Are charter flights expensive?

Charter flights are a great way to transport large groups of people and provide the convenience and flexibility scheduled service flights can't. While some charter companies charge a premium for this service, Sun Country works with customers to create a charter flight that works with their budget. I've never booked a charter flight before – what do I need to know?

Sun Country Charters is committed to providing the highest level of service and making charter flights easy and enjoyable for clients of any size or experience. Does Sun Country Charters offer discounts for schools or other non-profit organizations?

While we don't offer additional discounts off of our competitively priced group flights and aircraft charters, Sun Country works with clients of all sizes and affiliations to develop the charter solution that best fits their needs. How many people can fly for a group rate?

Group travelers use seats on publicly scheduled flights and come in two sizes; large parties with 10-19 passengers and group flights with 20-120 passengers.

What airplane lease options does Sun Country Charters provide?

Airplane leases are a great solution for those looking to use an aircraft for an extended period of time and can be either done on a wet lease (ACMI) or dry lease basis. Information about these can be found below.

What is a wet lease (ACMI)?

A wet lease, also known as ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance), is the most common aircraft lease type in which all aspects of aircraft operation are coordinated by Sun Country Charters. Wet leases (ACMI) typically last for a few months to a few years, but Sun Country offers the flexibility for shorter or longer aircraft lease arrangements.

What is a dry lease?

In a dry lease Sun Country Charters provides an aircraft to the leasing organization or broker client, and the client is responsible for providing the support staff and services needed to operate the leased aircraft. This is more frequently used by larger organizations and like a wet lease (ACMI) can last for several months to several years.
